So strange, but oh so good...

I don't even know where to begin. I had to show this to my girlfriend and we both just watched it over and over again until we had the lyrics memorized. Thanks for a good half hour of laughs.

Fun

I normally hate stick figures, but this was fun. The animation was great, the action was fast and there was no moment where it started to feel pretentious. Thanks for submitting this.

Ummm....

This all felt kind of childish. What happened last year was a horrible realization of the blind stupidity that consumerism can inspire in people and to make light of a person being killed at 4 o'clock in the morning by stampeding soccer moms is honestly disgusting. Please, find something funnier to laugh at next time.

Did you really test this?

I'm sorry, this is not a complete game. There are too many bugs, the control scheme is flawed and the art is unstyled and incomplete. As far as bugs, I found the sword to be the most buggy aspect of the game, it rarely was actually connected to me so much so that during the stage where you have to clear the mountaintop for a gate key I was able to kill all of the monters without ever coming close to them. It is an easily exploitable and also an easily fixable bug.
With regards to your control scheme, an adventure game is supposed to allow you to make quick decisions. Your control scheme does not allow for that. Arrow keys should always be directional, controlling the character in this game felt more like driving a car than moving a person. While I get that this was probably because you couldn't figure out how to make the sprite look in the correct direction any other way, it is not an excuse as there are countless communities online that make finding solutions to problems like this easy.
Now, the art, I mean, come on. There was no effort put into the art and it is apparent, I mean, your enemies are red circles of varying sizes. Everything feels bland and unfinished.
My suggestion for you is that you continue to work on this game, as this feels like it might be a test demo for a finished project later. Continue to work out code solutions for things like the control scheme and the sword control, flesh out the art, add some animations and try to create a more coherent storyline that actually compels a player to go from stage to stage.

Great Work

There were a few problems, which is why I can't honestly give this a 10 but I thought the concept and execution were both handled very well. The minimalism of the game's assets played well with both the simplicity of the interaction and the mood created by your choice in music. The only complaint that I have for this game is the lasso mechanism, it feels a little clunky at times. Other than that, I think that this is a great game. Thanks for sharing it with us.

Thanks a lot for the feedback! I'll keep looking for ways to improve the lasso look-and-feel.

Amazing work

I love this! There are plenty of games out there that work off of the rhythm-based interactivity concept (I mean who hasn't heard of Guitar Hero?) and there are some, like Rez, that use it to update an older genre. This game, however, pushes forward in ways that I haven't seen before. I really enjoyed this and I really feel that, with some work and a lot more content, this could be made into a title that could go well beyond Flash's capabilities and compete with AAA titles such as Braid and Gish (please tell me people still remember Gish). Again, great work.
